Gender Mainstreaming in Project Management
Course Description
This one-hour course on gender mainstreaming in project management is designed for AKF staff working in Programmes, Monitoring and Evaluation, Finance, and Partnerships. The course is also of value to AKDN staff working in these areas and to AKF’s civil society partners.
By the time you complete the course, you will be able to:
- Define key gender-related terms
- Describe gender mainstreaming principles and why they are important to AKF’s programming
- Describe how gender mainstreaming is a strategy for achieving gender equality
- Describe how gender should be integrated into each phase of the project cycle (proposal development, project design, planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation)
This is an introductory course. It is the first in a three-part series of courses focused on gender, including “Introduction to Gender Analysis” and “Gender Equality Marker: A Tool for AKF.”
