Youth Entrepreneurship and Employable Skills (YES) Programme Facilitator Training (online, self-paced course) 

This course prepares facilitators to deliver the YES programme to youth, supporting them to develop key employability and entrepreneurship skills. Designed for workshop facilitators with or without prior experience, the training is self-paced, online, and includes downloadable materials. An optional module offers additional guidance for master trainers. Participants will understand the YES framework, describe active learning methods, and identify strategies to implement the programme effectively in their local context. The course duration is 10.5 hours.

 

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

LO1 Describe the structure, goals, and methodology of the YES programme package, including its competency framework and target audience

LO2 Describe the key employability and entrepreneurship skills within the YES Competency Framework

LO3 Describe the purpose and use of the Business Model Canvas tool in the context of youth entrepreneurship

LO4 Identify relevant digital skills for the local context and challenges associated with implementing digital components of the YES programme

LO5 Describe the role of Active Learning Methods (ALMs) and how they support soft skills development in youth

LO6 Describe the role of the facilitator and distinguish between learning from content and learning from process

LO7 Select appropriate implementation strategies for delivering the YES programme, including planning for beneficiaries and context-specific needs

 

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate understanding of the structure and methodology of the YES programme and its application in youth training contexts
  • Interpret the role of competency frameworks in developing employability and entrepreneurship skills among young people
  • Recognise how facilitation approaches, including active learning methods, support youth engagement and skills development
  • Apply awareness of digital skills integration within programme delivery in context-specific environments
  • Understand the distinction between facilitator roles, content delivery, and learning process facilitation
  • Identify appropriate strategies for adapting and implementing the YES programme effectively in local contexts
  • Strengthen readiness to deliver structured, learner-centred youth training programmes using participatory approaches
