Community Philanthropy for CSOs

This free online course is aimed at civil society organisation practitioners from East Africa and beyond who want to develop and implement a community philanthropy strategy for their organisation.

By completing this course, you will be able to:

• Describe community philanthropy and the contribution it can make to CSO sustainability,
• Identify CSO actions and practices to build community trust and engagement,
• Design an effective fundraising campaign, and
• Identify the most relevant techniques to engage and mobilise resources from government, the private sector, the media and the general public.

This course is available in English and Arabic.

This course was produced as part of the Aga Khan Foundation’s Civil Society programme.

The course can be completed as an online-only course or in a blended format where learners first watch the videos and then engage in a synchronous in-person session. A Facilitator Guide is available for download for the synchronous in-person session.
