Community Philanthropy for CSOs

This free online course is designed for civil society practitioners in East Africa and beyond who want to develop and implement a community philanthropy strategy. Participants will learn how to strengthen CSO sustainability through trust-building, effective fundraising campaigns, and resource mobilisation across sectors.

Course duration: 2 hours 30 minutes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Describe community philanthropy and the contribution it can make to CSO sustainability
• Identify CSO actions and practices to build community trust and engagement
• Describe how to design an effective fundraising campaign
• Identify the most relevant techniques to engage and mobilise resources from government, the private sector, the media and the general public
