COVID-19 Learning Toolkit: Home and Community-Based Innovations
These short videos introduce three home and community-based innovations that were developed at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic to help parents and caregivers to help children continue learning at home: the Learning from Home Kit, the Learning Wall, and the Volunteer Learning Activity Centres.
The first video introduces the Learning at Home Kit, a low-cost kit with learning materials (puzzles, word cards, illustrated activity ideas etc.) that enables under-resourced families without internet access to improve engagement with children and continue learning at home.
The second video introduces the Learning Wall, a method whereby generic puzzles or questions were put up every day on outer walls of community spaces and volunteers’ houses in India, using a folding whiteboard, allowing people and children to stop by and solve the questions.
The third video presents the Volunteer Learning Activity Centres, comfortable learning spaces in the immediate vicinity of a school enabling children to continue engagement with meaningful and joyful learning experiences.
These videos were produced as part of the Aga Khan Foundation’s Education programme.
