A Competency Framework for Health Workers, Supervisors, and Trainers

This Competency Framework in English language is designed for health workers, supervisors and trainers. The document outlines the competencies required of health workers to support caregivers with children ages 0 to 3 years in promoting their child’s overall development. The Competency Framework focuses on the three components of the nurturing care: responsive caregiving, opportunities for early learning, safety and security, and caregiver’s well-being. The document also outlines the roles and responsibilities of mentors, supervisors and trainers.

The document was developed by AKDN agencies technical team from various country units in partnership with the Government of Canada.
