Setting up Community Based Reporting Mechanisms for Safeguarding
This course provides a guideline for safeguarding; front line programmes and MERL- teams, on how to engage local communities in co-designing speak up channels on issues related to sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment [SEAH] caused by our staff.
The course aims to identify what stands between specific communities and reporting on misconduct, understand context-specific preferences for engaging on sensitive issues, and work with communities to define and develop ways to overcome challenges for reporting.
The presented methodology draws on innovative engagement methods that can be tailored to fit the needs of different communities (and the groups within them), in varying contexts, and that specifically address the power and gender dynamics at play in creating barriers to reporting.
