Climate Challenge: Be Part of the Solution
This free video course provides insight into how climate change is already impacting, and will continue to impact, communities in both urban and rural settings around the world. It also explores the practical actions that individuals, communities, and Aga Khan Development Network staff can take to adapt to and mitigate climate change.
The course is designed to take approximately 1.5 hours to complete and is part of the Aga Khan Foundation’s climate resilience programme.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
LO1 Explain the causes and impacts of climate change and why urgent action is required
LO2 Describe key concepts of climate resilience, including vulnerability and risk across different contexts
LO3 Explain approaches to building resilience in communities, ecosystems, and urban environments
LO4 Describe strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions across sectors such as energy, buildings, and agriculture
LO5 Explain the role of global frameworks, including the Paris Climate Accord, in shaping climate action
After completing this course, learners will be able to:
- Apply climate change concepts to inform programme design and organisational decision-making
- Identify climate risks and resilience needs within specific community or sector contexts
- Integrate climate-resilient approaches into development and environmental programmes
- Support actions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen climate adaptation efforts
- Align their work with global climate commitments and contribute to organisational sustainability goals
