Video Description

Wakulima wa nafaka ya kakao (cocoa) mara nyingi hulazimika kuuza mazoa yao punde wakivuna kwa kampuni za kibinafsi, madalali wakubwa na vyama vya ushirika kwa haraka na bei duni. Hii ni kwa sababu hawana ujuzi wa kuburisha (ferment) kunde za kakao wao wenyewe. Video hii fupi ya kielimu iliyo tayarishwa kwa minajil ya wakulima wadogo wa kakao Afrika Mashariki, yaeleza vile mkulima aweza kuburisha kunde zake za kakao akiwa nyumbani kwa kutumia vikapu viwili vilivyosukwa kwa vijiti vya mianzi (bamboo) majani ya mti wa ndizi na kwa siku sita. Video inaeleza mchakato mzima wa kuburisha kunde za kakao hatua kwa hatua.

Kupitia ujuzi huu mkulima wa kakao aweza kuhifadhi kunde zake za kakao zilizo burishwa na kukaushwa na kuziuza wakati ambapo bei iko sawa.

This free training video in Swahili was developed for smallholder farmers in East Africa looking to grow their income by processing cocoa beans at home.

By the time they complete the video, smallholder farmers will be able to:

  • Describe the advantages of fermenting freshly harvested cocoa beans at home,
  • List the simple materials needed to ferment cocoa beans at home,
  • Describe the steps required to ferment cocoa beans at home, and
  • Explain the length of time needed to ferment cocoa beans at home.
